Attractive young woman gets cosmetic injection of botox. Doctors hands making an injection in face. Beauty Treatment.Botox is one of the most well-known and widely used neuromodulators or prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of both moderate to severe crow’s feet lines and frown lines between the eyebrows in adults.  It’s an injection procedure that involves very low doses of botulinum toxin in specific areas of the face. Almost no redness or swelling occurs following a Botox® injection. No anesthesia is required and the entire procedure takes no more than 10 minutes.

How Botox® Works:

Botox® blocks impulses from the nerve to the tiny facial muscles that are related to expression lines. Botox® relaxes the muscles so they do not contract. The contraction of the muscle is the culprit causing the wrinkles. After treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion, allowing normal facial expression to be unaffected.

Botox® injections have been used safely and effectively for over ten years to treat many ophthalmological and neurological disorders. Each year, thousands of patients receive Botox® treatments to reverse the signs of aging AND to treat hyperhydrosis or excessive sweating.
